Jamie Lee Curtis is making amends for her recent comments about Marvel Studios, declaring that her past criticisms were "stupid" and that she will no longer engage in negative discourse about the entertainment giant. The Oscar-winning actress has apologized for her remarks and pledged to steer clear of what she describes as the "mud-slinging sandbox" of internet competition.
The controversy began with a Comic-Con interview where Curtis, asked about the current phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), described it as “bad.
In a heartfelt statement shared on social media, Curtis acknowledged her error and expressed regret. “My comments about Marvel were stupid and I will do better,” she wrote. “I’ve reached out to Kevin Feige and will no longer play in that mud-slinging sandbox of competition we call the internet nor will I engage in the toilet paper promotion or game play that is designed for clicks not content.
Curtis’s remarks about Marvel were particularly notable given her role in the recent multiverse film, Everything Everywhere All at Once. The film, which Curtis promoted during the same period as Marvel's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, received significant acclaim and sparked a playful rivalry between the two projects.
