The Princess of Wales, Catherine, has made her return to official royal duties after more than nine months away, marking a significant milestone in her recovery journey. At the age of 42, the Princess revealed last week that she had completed a course of preventative chemotherapy following major abdominal surgery in January. Her return was marked by a meeting for her "Early Years" project, a cause close to her heart, held at Windsor Castle.
The Court Circular, the official record of royal engagements, noted the event with a statement: "The Princess of Wales, Joint Patron, The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, this afternoon held an Early Years Meeting at Windsor." This meeting is particularly significant as it is her first official work meeting since December 2023, when she last participated in a roundtable for the Royal Foundation.
Although the Princess had stayed in touch with her passion projects and household team during her recovery, yesterday’s meeting symbolizes a major step forward in her return to the public eye.
