This filing follows a period of separation earlier this year, during which Cardi had previously mentioned her struggle with the idea of fully ending their relationship. In an interview with Rolling Stone, she reflected on their deep bond, describing Offset as both a best friend and a crucial support system.

Despite their ups and downs, including Offset's past infidelities and their brief 2018 split, the couple had rekindled their relationship several times, including a notable reunion at the 2024 Met Gala. Cardi and Offset, who share two children, Kulture and Wave, have repeatedly faced public scrutiny over their turbulent romance.
