Bridgerton fans are swooning over the long-awaited romance between Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) in season 3. But behind the steamy kisses and stolen glances lies a deep friendship that has helped the actors navigate the complexities of their on-screen relationship.
In an exclusive interview with Britain's HELLO! magazine, Newton revealed the magic of working with his longtime friend, Coughlan.
"Working with Nic has been so cool, because we’ve known each other for years," Newton shared. "We can laugh and play around and when we need to, we will support each other in the moments that feel vulnerable."
Their pre-existing bond allowed them to create a safe and supportive environment on set, especially during intimate scenes.
"It's nice that we had time to build our friendship before this season, so we've got each other's backs when we're on set," Newton added.
